Techniche are working with one of the UK’s largest and well established specialist equipment rental companies. They are seeking a Field Service Engineer for a long-term assigment who will maintain, service and repair their range of material handling and plant equipment.
The role suits a mechanically minded individual who is able to carry out planned maintenance activities at customer sites.
You’ll have a flexible region covering Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, which are all within a 2 hour radius of their Edinburgh depot.
You’ll receive training in their maintenance programs and equipment which consists of telescopic handlers and straight mast fork lift trucks.
Key Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:
- As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the team, ensuring the maintenance and repair of the machines are completed to the high standards.
- You will also serve as the frontline representative for the customers, ensuring exceptional service and fostering lasting customer connections.
- Carrying out essential maintenance and servicing to the hire machinery on-site with customers.
- Offer breakdown resolutions and an effective repair service.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical/mechanical issue during site visits.
- Collaborating with the wider operations teams to identify opportunities for improvements to the service.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all repairs, services, and customer interactions.
Experience/qualifications/skills required:
- Experience of repairing and servicing plant equipment which includes Telehandlers.
- A recognised mechanical qualification in mechanical plant or agricultural engineering.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
- A valid full UK driving licence.
