Salary: 45,000 – £60,000, depending on experience, plus bonus

We are supporting a leading global engineering organisation in their search for a Lead Engineer to join their Subsea Engineering team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take technical ownership of major subsea engineering projects, working at the interface between customers, project teams and multiple engineering disciplines. You will lead projects through execution, coordinate technical stakeholders and ensure engineering solutions are delivered safely, accurately and in line with customer requirements. The Role: As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Engineering Project Leadership – Leading the engineering execution of major projects, typically ranging from $5m to $200m and running over 12–24 months.
• Technical Coordination – Bringing together multidisciplinary engineering and internal stakeholder teams to successfully deliver customer projects.
• Customer Interface – Acting as a key technical point of contact, understanding customer requirements and identifying appropriate engineering solutions.
• Technical Design Ownership – Taking responsibility for top-level design and technical documentation including design specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, testing procedures and operating manuals.
• Design Reviews – Leading internal and external project design reviews and ensuring technical requirements are effectively addressed.
• Project Delivery – Supporting projects throughout design, build and testing while maintaining visibility of technical progress, risks and deliverables.
• Technical Guidance – Reviewing specifications and providing engineering guidance to project teams throughout execution.
• Engineering Reporting – Providing regular project status and progress updates to Engineering Management.

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification supported by relevant industry experience.
• Experience leading or coordinating complex engineering projects.
• Strong technical engineering background with the ability to understand specifications and customer requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
• Customer-focused approach with confidence communicating with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable:

• Experience within subsea, offshore, oil & gas, energy or another complex engineering environment.
• Previous experience supporting projects through design, manufacture, assembly and testing.
• Knowledge of SAP or PLM systems.
• Experience using engineering software including MathCad, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar 3D CAD packages.
• Experience leading formal engineering or design reviews.
