PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Salary: £41k – £44k + Benefits
We are supporting a leading healthcare manufacturing organisation in their search for a Production Engineer to join their Engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will support production through preventative maintenance, breakdown response, process improvement initiatives and new equipment projects while contributing to continuous improvement across the business.
The Role: As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Production Equipment Maintenance – Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs and calibration activities to ensure production equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
- Continuous Improvement – Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase productivity, reliability and operational performance.
- Engineering Support – Providing day-to-day engineering support across manufacturing operations to minimise downtime and maximise output.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) – Supporting internal and external trials, new product development activities and production readiness initiatives.
- Project Engineering – Assisting with the specification, installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Process Standardisation – Developing and maintaining process data, engineering standards and best practice procedures.
- Lean Manufacturing – Supporting the implementation of Lean tools, SMED methodologies and operational improvement projects.
- Facilities Support – Assisting with facilities maintenance and site engineering activities where required.
- Technical Reporting – Providing updates and reports on engineering activities, maintenance performance and project progress.
- Health & Safety Compliance – Ensuring all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures and standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience within a production engineering, maintenance engineering or manufacturing engineering role.
- Strong hands-on engineering and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience supporting production machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering and operational teams.
