CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES ENGINEER

Salary: £30k-£35k + up to 15% annual bonus
We are supporting a leading distributor of plastic piping systems and water infrastructure solutions in their search for a Customer Service & Sales Engineer.
The business supplies innovative products and technical expertise across multiple industries, delivering high-quality solutions and exceptional customer support. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and customer-focused professional to play a key role in supporting customer growth, retention and sales performance within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role: As Customer Service & Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Customer Relationship Management – Handling inbound and outbound customer calls while building strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Sales Support & Growth – Proactively following up quotations and identifying opportunities to convert enquiries into profitable business.
- Quotation & Order Processing – Preparing and processing customer quotations and orders accurately and efficiently.
- Customer Service Excellence – Resolving customer queries professionally and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Stock & Delivery Coordination – Checking stock availability, lead times and delivery options while communicating updates clearly to customers.
- Proactive Sales Activity – Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities to support sales growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working closely with sales, warehouse, logistics and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Systems & Administration – Maintaining accurate customer and sales records within ERP and CRM systems.
- Continuous Improvement – Supporting improvements to processes and contributing positively to team culture.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2–3+ years’ experience within industrial sales, technical B2B sales or sales administration.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and proactively engaging with customers.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with a proactive sales approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Experience using ERP systems, Microsoft Office and digital business tools.
Desirable:
- Experience within industrial products, technical solutions or wholesale environments.
- Knowledge of piping systems, water infrastructure products or technical distribution industries.
