Application Automation Engineer (Junior & Senior) – UK (within 2-2.5 hours of Rugby) – £45,000-£65,000 + bonus + car + benefits – Hybrid
 
A growing automation business is expanding its UK team and is looking to appoint Application Automation Engineers at both junior and senior levels as part of a wider investment and growth plan.
 
This is a hybrid role combining home, office, and customer site work, offering a strong mix of technical delivery and customer-facing responsibility.
 
The role is not purely commissioning or desk-based—it blends pre-sales support with hands-on engineering, giving you full lifecycle involvement from initial customer engagement through to delivery and post-sales support.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pre-sales activities, including technical discussions, qualification, and demonstrations
• Delivering engineering solutions aligned to customer requirements
• Working across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to support
• Engaging with a wide range of automation technologies, including CODESYS-based platforms (e.g. Beckhoff, B&R, Omron)
• Contributing to the growth and development of the UK automation function

 
Candidates will be considered from a range of PLC backgrounds, including Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, or similar. Experience with CODESYS is not required, as training will be provided.
 
This role would suit engineers with full lifecycle project experience who are looking to move into a more solutions-focused, customer-facing position, or those already in applications roles seeking greater ownership and progression.
 
The package includes:

• Salary up to £65,000 (Senior) or £45,000-£50,000 (Junior)
• Bonus (circa 5%)
• Company car, expenses, and time off in lieu

• Hybrid working pattern (typically 2 days on customer sites, with the remainder split between home and office)
