We are working with a global Software, Systems & Engineering company in the Defence Sector, supporting them with appointing a Senior Materials Additive Manufacturing Engineer.
The position is focused on applying metal additive manufacturing within defence programmes, predominantly supporting marine and naval platforms (including submarine-related work), with scope to be involved in the Company’s wider technology areas beyond naval as well.

  
Salary: £60-65 per annum + benefits
Location: Farnborough – hybrid (3 days per week onsite; 2 days WFH)
Working hours: 37 per week
Duration: perm, full time
Requirements:  sole Uk nationals living and working in the Uk for the past 5 years
  
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading technical programmes in additive manufacturing projects
  • Engaging with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Leading the qualification and certification of AM parts
  • Producing proposals, reports and technical documentation to a high standard
  • Supporting business development through bids, proposals and portfolio management

  
Essential experience of the Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Extensive experience in additive manufacturing, particularly with metal-based technologies
  • Excellent understanding of materials science and its application to AM
  • Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets and deliver outcomes to time and quality
  • Experience of mechanical testing and validation methods (e.g. tensile, hardness)
  • Expert knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and CAD/CAM
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including customer engagement

  
Essential qualifications for the Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer:

  • A first degree in Science or Engineering OR equivalent experience (8+ years)
