Fabrication Workshop Supervisor
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm (some flexibility available)
Contract: Permanent
 
We’re supporting a UK-based manufacturing business in the appointment of a Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to lead operations at their Peterborough facility.
 
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on the fabrication of mild and stainless-steel frames for industrial storage systems. You’ll supervise a small (but growing) team currently consisting of two Fabricators, ensuring the delivery of high-quality welding, cutting, and metal assembly work in line with production schedules and safety standards.
 
As the team expands, this role will evolve to include more office-based responsibilities, including resource planning, workflow optimisation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities
• Support MIG and TIG welding, metal cutting, and frame assembly operations
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure correct execution on the shop floor
• Assist in team development and contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new staff
• Collaborate with design and production teams to improve build processes

 
What We’re Looking For:

• Proven supervisory experience in a fabrication or welding environment
• Strong technical understanding of metalwork and fabrication techniques
• Confident in reading and working from engineering drawings
• Knowledge of CAD software and continuous improvement methods is beneficial
• A proactive, quality-focused mindset and the ability to lead from the front
