Quality Assurance Engineer

supporting an engineering company to appoint a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure that our Client’s final product observes the company’s quality standards. As a detail-oriented professional, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of inspection activities, the detection and resolution of problems, and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes.
Salary: £35k- £45k
Location: Luton (This role is 90% office based and 10% in the factory or visiting customers/suppliers’ sites)
Duration: perm/ full-time
Requirements: UK passport holder; a Full Driving Licence; experience in contract reviews, technical documentation and ITP writing; Good Knowledge of Pressure boundary Design codes
Job responsibilities:
- Review of enquiry/Order documents and preparation of summary QA/QC documentation as part of quotation submission.
- Purchase text checking and amending to Requirements.
- Preparation and maintenance of product specifications and process procedures, including monitoring approval records (Agility System).
- Control of contract quality plans and monitor live QP’s for daily status.
- Control of CAPA’s, ECR’s, Permits and Concessions
- Certification checks and stamped sign off against standards and HT PO text.
- Control of Sub- Contract deliveries monitoring progress, compliance, and due dates.
- Maintenance and control of weld & welder qualifications where appropriate with the welding Engineer.
- Ensuring changes in specifications are reflected in accordance with Engineering Manager’s requirements.
- Monitoring and incorporating changes to QA compliance incorporating relevant design codes (ASME ,IBR, PED, API, Norsok etc.)
- Provide quality support to Sales, Operations, Production Engineering, Manufacturing and Test.
- Participation or leading quality improvement projects.
- Participation in supplier and internal and external QA audit activity.
- Material certification checking against material standards.
- Approval of suppliers ITP’s and procedures.
- Reviewing HT procedures, amending and writing.
Desirable knowledge/ experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a QAE role (heavy industry)
- Knowledge of Pressure boundary Design codes (ASME,IBR, PED, API, Norsok etc.)
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
- Able to Review of Customer Technical specifications to create an IPT? QP for materials/Manufacture and Test.
- Experience in Microsoft word, Excel, EPICOR.
- Experience in procedure writing.
- UK Passport Holder (not dual)
- A Full Driving Licence
- Experience in large Electrical Motors and Submersible Pumps (Rotating equipment).
- Aerospace Specifications Knowledge or MoD/BAE/ Rolls Royce Specification Knowledge.
- Knowledge of GS3001 (RR Supplier Quality Management system requirements).
- PCN/SNT Knowledge (NDT Level III)
- BPSS clearance (security)
- NNPPI clearance (security)
- ISO 19443 Nuclear requirements (knowledge)
- Epicor System Knowledge (Job planning)
- Knowledge of ISO 90001.
- Internal & External Auditing experience
