Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Project Cost Capability Lead to oversee their Project Cost and Controls capability within their Mission Systems business area.
Salary:                 £70-80k
Location:              Bristol- hybrid
Duration:             perm, full-time
Requirements:  Sole UK national, working and living in the UK for the past 5 years
  
Key responsibilities:
Day-to-day, you’ll work with the other Discipline Leads to ensure best practice approaches, governance and techniques, in line with Group policies, are embedded as part of our local operating models and project delivery lifecycle – focusing on instilling strong foundations and forward looking, proactive approaches to delivery.

  • Responsible for leading the implementation of best practice cost management techniques and toolsets across the Mission Systems portfolio
  • Lead and support a community of professionals specialising in cost management, including mentoring, coaching, and professional development
  • Collaborate with the Operations Lead to build a pipeline of suitably qualified and experienced cost management professionals aligned with delivery demand across the portfolio

  
Essential experience:

  • Strong experience in applying robust project cost management and control techniques, including forecasting, performance reporting (e.g. Earned Value Management), and quantitative cost risk analysis
  • Proven track record of leading cost management within complex projects and programmes involving technically advanced equipment or system delivery contracts
  • Skilled in using or collaborating with teams using project and risk management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, riskHive, Deltek Cobra, Safran, or Primavera Risk Analyser
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and leadership abilities, with a proven capacity to engage effectively across a broad stakeholder community
  • Experience of using ERP systems (SAP/IFS or similar is desirable).
