Techniche Global are supporting a leading plastic injection moulding manufacturer, to appoint a Project Design Engineer who will manage all aspects of design related projects to ensure they are brought in on time. You will also ensure all design projects are reviewed and where possible designed with circularity / tooling / production processes in mind.
Salary:               £40-50k
Location:            Alconbury, Cambridgeshire- 100% onsite
Duration:           perm, full-time (8 am- 5 pm; Mon- Fri; 1 hr lunch break)

  Key Responsibilities:   

• Comply with all Health and Safety at Work requirements as determined by company policy.
• Manage design projects ensuring products are designed to the correct standards e.g EN / BIFMA etc.
• Manage design project lead times to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
• Manage the Design team holding annual reviews.
• Liaising with all key stakeholders and representing the Company to external customers with projects and designs.
• Carry out regular project reviews and updates internally.
• To hold a minute a bi weekly design meeting.
• Organise and participate in engineering technical reviews with customers
• Delegate purchasing tasks when required on samples for design projects.
• Be the design project focal point.
• To design components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• To help advise designers on designs / design for tooling / design for manufacturing.
• Work with tooling and production to ensure components are designed in the most efficient way for quality and cycle times.
• Support customer new tooling design and development projects alongside sales, tooling and design departments.
• Attend tool trials as and when needed.
• Undertake any other duties as necessary to fulfil the needs of the job and its objectives as and when requested by your line manager.
• To work from any of the sites as and when needed as agreed with direct manager.
