Techniche Global is supporting a leading engineering consultancy in the search for a Civil Engineer to join its national Building Design team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of building and infrastructure projects across the UK, contributing to the design and delivery of drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, and external works schemes within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Type: Initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension based on project workload.
- Location: Flexible UK locations including Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, and Glasgow.
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
- Rate: circa £55/hour (Umbrella PAYE) but flexible dependant on level of relevant experience.
The Role As a Civil Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of small to medium-sized infrastructure projects, producing high-quality designs and working closely with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of sectors. The role offers excellent exposure to building-related civil engineering projects and would suit someone looking to further develop their technical and project delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering designs in accordance with relevant standards and codes.
- Contribute to the design of drainage, roads, car parks, utilities, earthworks, and access infrastructure.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design disciplines.
- Manage your own workload and support project delivery programmes.
- Ensure compliance with quality, BIM, and technical assurance procedures.
- Produce design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
Requirements:
- Around 5+ years’ relevant civil engineering experience.
- Experience in infrastructure design associated with building projects.
- Strong drainage design experience.
- Proficiency with InfoDrainage (or similar drainage software).
- Experience designing roads and car parks.
- Good working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Progress towards ICE chartership or professional accreditation.
