Instrument Technician – Fawley, Southampton – £20.00-£22.40 per hour PAYE – 12-Month Contract – Site Based
 
A global engineering and technology business is looking to appoint an Instrument Technician to support maintenance and project activities at its chemical manufacturing site in Fawley, Southampton.
 
This role focuses on planned and breakdown maintenance across instrumented plant equipment within a process industry environment.
 
The position will also involve supporting CAPEX installation and commissioning activities, carrying out inspections and repairs, reviewing engineering drawings, supporting contractors on site, and ensuring all work is completed safely in line with site procedures and hazardous area requirements.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumented plant equipment
• Fault finding and repair activities
• Supporting CAPEX installation and commissioning work
• Reviewing and marking up engineering drawings
• Supporting and supervising contractors on site
• Ensuring compliance with site safety procedures and hazardous area standards

 
Candidates should have:

• Previous experience within refinery, chemical, petrochemical, or similar process industry environments
• Strong instrumentation maintenance and fault-finding experience
• A recognised apprenticeship or technical qualification
• Hazardous area certification such as CompEx or equivalent

 
This is a 12-month contract role based on site in Fawley, Southampton.

• £20.00-£22.40 per hour PAYE
