Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer (MEP / Building Services) – Birmingham – Long-Term Contract – Hybrid – Inside IR35
A leading engineering consultancy is looking to appoint Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to support major infrastructure works on the HS2 programme around Birmingham.
These are client-side project engineering roles focused on MEP and Building Services systems across tunnel portal buildings, shafts, and pumping stations.
The positions are centred around contractor assurance, coordination, integration, and project delivery rather than detailed design work. You will oversee contractors and ensure systems are delivered, integrated, tested, and certified correctly across complex infrastructure environments.
Systems involved include:

• HVAC
• Lighting
• Electrical systems
• Mechanical systems
• Fire systems
• Power infrastructure

Candidates should ideally have experience within:

• MEP / Building Services engineering
• Major infrastructure or construction projects
• Rail, utilities, or large-scale engineering environments

Experience with contractor assurance, delivery oversight, systems integration, or coordinating multidisciplinary packages would be highly beneficial.
These are long-term contract roles running until at least March 2027.
