We are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint Senior Exterior Designer to join a highly creative, agile design team working on forward-thinking concept and production vehicle programmes shaping future mobility experiences.
Pay Rate: £42-47p/ hr UMB- Inside IR35
Location: Paddington, West London- hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Duration: The position is an initial contract till 31st March 2027 which will be reviewed for extension late 2026/early 2027.
Requirements: LRTW ; Valid UK driving licence is a MUST.
Key responsibilities:
- Create compelling design proposals for concept and production vehicles, from ideation to final execution
- Balance multiple projects demonstrating creativity, attention to detail and clarity
- Collaborate across global design organization and regional stakeholders
- Translate trends and insights into forward-thinking design concepts
- Deliver high-quality sketches and visualisations that clearly communicate design intent
- Lead clay and digital modelling development to realise designs in 3D
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity through to completion
- Contribute to technical and styling reviews, maintaining design quality and feasibility

What You Bring
- Degree in Automotive or Industrial Design (BS, BFA, MS or MFA) or similar
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, VRED, Blender (or similar)
- Strong exterior design portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skills and process
- Demonstrated use of AI tools for enhanced speed and agility
- Significant relevant experience in OEM automotive design studios
- Experience contributing to concept and/or production vehicle development (incl. 1:1 models)
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering constraints and ability to negotiate/incorporate feedback into design proposals
- Ability to translate briefs and feedback into clear design direction
