Rate: £20 per hour
Working Pattern: Onsite
We are supporting a large manufacturer in their search for an experienced Planner / Buyer to join their Materials team in Lisburn.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering and energy organisation, playing a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through effective supply chain planning, procurement and inventory management.
The Role: As Planner / Buyer, you will be responsible for:
- Procurement & Purchasing – Managing the procurement of direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing operations using SAP ERP systems.
- Supply Chain Planning – Planning, organising and scheduling inbound supply chain activities to ensure continuity of supply while maintaining inventory targets.
- Purchase Order Management – Ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately and submitted to suppliers on time while maintaining correct costs and procurement records.
- Inventory Management – Supporting inventory control activities, safety stock management and supplier-managed inventory processes.
- Supplier Coordination – Working closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance and resolve supply chain issues.
- Materials Management – Supporting component changes, new part introductions and the management of non-conforming supplier stock.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives – Collaborating with sourcing teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain improvement.
- Performance Monitoring – Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance metrics including delivery, order execution and supplier payments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working closely with manufacturing, sourcing and materials teams to support operational objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience within Supply Chain Planning, Materials Planning or Purchasing.
- Strong understanding of supply chain concepts and procurement processes.
- Experience using SAP ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and functions.
