MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Contract: Initial 12-Month Contract
Salary: £38-£40p/hr PAYE
We are supporting a global engineering organisation in their search for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Rugby.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing or industrial engineer to play a key role in manufacturing readiness, process optimisation and production improvement for a new product introduction programme.
Working within a highly collaborative engineering environment, you will support the development of efficient, safe and high-quality manufacturing processes while contributing to major facility and equipment improvement projects.
The Role: As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Manufacturing Readiness – Supporting the development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are achieved.
- Process Development – Designing, developing and optimising machining processes to improve repeatability, efficiency and product quality.
- Factory Layout & Workflow Planning – Supporting factory layout development, workflow strategies and equipment placement to maximise operational efficiency and material flow.
- Capital Equipment Projects – Supporting capital equipment activities from proposal and cost-benefit analysis through to installation, commissioning and handover.
- Continuous Improvement – Analysing production workflows and identifying opportunities for process optimisation and operational improvements.
- Quality & Process Controls – Leading PFMEA activities and supporting the implementation of process controls and manufacturing standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working closely with engineering, production and project teams within a global manufacturing environment.
- Technical Leadership – Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers while contributing to a strong team culture.
- Project Presentation & Reporting – Presenting proposals and improvement initiatives to senior stakeholders to secure project approvals and investment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Industrial Engineer within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing process development.
- Experience supporting factory layout planning, equipment implementation or production readiness projects.
- CAD design capability, preferably using Creo.
- Strong understanding of process optimisation, workflow design and manufacturing best practice.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong computer literacy including engineering design tools and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
