Techniche Global are supporting a well-established, privately owned UK manufacturing business operating across the packaging and industrial sectors.
The business is seeking a Finance Director to provide strong on-site financial leadership, governance and commercial insight.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Board, the Finance Director will lead the on-site finance function and act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership. This is a hands-on role, combining ownership of core finance operations with strategic input to support operational performance and long-term decision-making.
You will manage a small finance team, ensure robust financial control, and provide clear, timely, and commercially focused reporting to support the business at Board level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall leadership of the finance function, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
- Full ownership of cashflow management, including short-term liquidity control and rolling cashflow forecasting.
- Preparation and oversight of management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and statutory reporting.
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of financial controls, processes, and systems.
- Delivery of clear management information and performance reporting to the Board.
- Management, development, and mentoring of a small on-site finance team.
- Providing commercial support to senior leadership, including margin analysis, cost control, and decision support.
- Close collaboration with operational teams to support manufacturing performance and efficiency.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for auditors, advisors, and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant as a minimum; ACA or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Strong track record in cashflow management, forecasting and financial control.
- Confident operating at Board level with the ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insight.
- Hands-on leadership style with experience managing and developing small finance teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across finance and operations.
