Electrician / Instrumentation Engineer – Industrial Processing (Permanent, Days)
We are working with a global leader in mineral-based industrial processing, supporting them in appointing an Electrician / Instrumentation Engineer for their site near Plymouth. This is a permanent, day-shift position with long-term development opportunities in controls and automation.
About the Role:
You will be part of a small, close-knit team of five engineers responsible for maintaining and improving the electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems across a kaolin calcination plant. The site operates a range of heavy processing equipment including combustion systems, PLCs, drives, and instrumentation equipment.
The role is varied, involving both planned and reactive maintenance, and plays a vital part in supporting plant uptime and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance on industrial plant equipment.
- Support and troubleshoot instrumentation and automation systems.
- Assist in both reactive repairs and planned maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to equipment upgrades and improvements across the site.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and reliability.
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Industrial maintenance experience in a processing, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
- Full UK driving licence (site is not accessible via public transport).
- Experience with instrumentation, PLCs, or automation systems is advantageous.
