Shift Plant Technician – Industrial Machinery Maintenance
Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician looking for a hands-on role in a large-scale manufacturing environment? We are working with a leading polymer manufacturer that specializes in producing high-quality foam products for industries such as construction, packaging, and sportswear. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Shift Plant Technician to join their on-site team in Croydon.
 
About the Role:
As a Shift Plant Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing specialized industrial plastic foam manufacturing machinery. This includes steam boilers, thermal oil heaters, high-pressure compressors, and extrusion lines. The role is primarily focused on mechanical maintenance, but will also involve aspects of electrical and automation systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, repair, and service industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Work on a range of equipment including steam boilers, thermal oil heaters, and high-pressure compressors.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues.
• Support the engineering team in improving plant efficiency and reliability.

 
What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, and servicing of industrial machinery.
• Strong hands-on skills with mechanical systems, with additional experience in electrical and automation systems being an advantage.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

 
What’s On Offer:

• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Shift Pattern: Panama shift pattern (rotating days and nights).
