Techniche Global are supporting a leading global energy technology organisation with the appointment of a Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of a major grid infrastructure project located on the Isle of Skye.
Type: Contract position
Rate: £500 – £650 per day (CIS) depending on experience
Location: Site-based role on the Isle of Skye (rotational pattern)
Accommodation and daily food allowance provided
This role will support the construction phase of a large-scale grid infrastructure project forming part of the UK’s energy network development. The organisation delivers advanced power and grid solutions globally and is involved in major transmission and infrastructure projects supporting the transition to a more resilient energy system.
The Construction Project Manager will oversee civil works on site, acting as the main interface between the project team and the civil subcontractor to ensure works are delivered safely, in line with design specifications, and in accordance with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing civil construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with design drawings and specifications
- Acting as the main interface between the project team and civil subcontractors
- Carrying out inspections and audits of subcontractor works and quality plans
- Managing hold points, NCRs, and corrective actions where required
- Coordinating with the civil design and site management teams to resolve technical or construction issues
- Monitoring site progress, resources, and schedules to ensure project milestones are met
- Supporting site health & safety requirements, including RAMS reviews and reporting
About You
- Proven experience in a Civil Site Manager or Construction Manager role
- Experience working on infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects
- Current Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification
- Practical experience managing temporary works on site
- Strong understanding of site health & safety and construction best practices
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and resolve site issues effectively
