Techniche Global are supporting a leading provider of high-voltage power system protection and control equipment in their search for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer in Ulverston, Cumbria.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in substation control and protection. The role includes leading projects, mentoring a small team, and ensuring high-quality engineering delivery. 

Salary: £50,000+, dependent on experience + company benefits.
Type: permanent, Hybrid arrangements available 

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership of customer projects, managing design quality and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate engineering resources across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Interface with internal teams, clients, and manufacturing on all technical matters.
• Lead design reviews and ensure all technical documentation (e.g. circuit diagrams, cable schedules, logic diagrams) is completed to standard.
• Conduct site surveys as required and support factory testing and inspections.
• Provide technical support to tendering and manufacturing teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Strong experience in technical project management and electrical design.
• Background in substation systems, protection/control, or related high-voltage engineering.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
