Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer
Location: Middlewich
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
 
We are supporting a leading specialist in advanced gas analysis systems in their search for an E&I Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Middlewich. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative analyser systems delivered to clients across the UK and internationally.
 
The Role:
As an E&I Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Designing and specifying electrical and signal systems, gas routing schematics, and mechanical layouts for analyser racks and cabinets.
• Producing P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings.
• Developing I/O schedules and selecting components such as transmitters and flow meters.
• Collaborating with project teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and industry standards.

 
What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation design (process or analyser systems desirable).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
• Solid understanding of low-voltage systems, control loops, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
• Knowledge of emissions monitoring or process analyser systems (advantageous).
• A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
