Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer – Marine/Defence (Contract)
Location: Devonport (2 days on-site, remainder remote)
Rate: £50 per hour (Inside IR35)
Type: Long-term Contract
We are supporting a leading engineering services provider with the appointment of two experienced EC&I Designers for a long-term contract focused on naval platforms, including ships and submarines.
The Role:
You will be responsible for the design and modification of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, working across the full engineering product lifecycle. This includes:
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and 2D AutoCAD models.
- Preparing design documentation, cable schedules, and commissioning procedures.
- Resolving technical queries and liaising with manufacturing and installation teams.
- Supporting both design development and system modifications for marine applications.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in electrical design for marine or defence engineering environments.
- Familiarity with control and instrumentation systems.
- Strong 2D AutoCAD skills.
- SC clearance or the ability to obtain it (essential).
- Prior experience on defence or naval projects is advantageous.
