Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer
Location: Caerphilly (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
 
We are working with a leading engineering company specialising in the downstream gas and petrochemical sectors, who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer to join their growing team in Caerphilly.
 
The Role:
As an EC&I Designer, you’ll lead the scoping and detailed design of electrical and instrumentation systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Your work will include producing and modifying key electrical and instrumentation drawings, such as:

• Single-line diagrams
• Cable block diagrams
• P&IDs
• Instrumentation loop diagrams
• Hook-up drawings
• Panel layouts

 
What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation design.
• Strong AutoCAD (or ProgCAD) skills.
• Knowledge of BS7671 standards for electrical distribution drawings.
• Experience with cable routing layouts and instrumentation systems (flow, pressure, temperature).
• Familiarity with ATEX-certified equipment, intrinsic safety, and flameproof protection.
• Experience with Relux lighting design software (desirable).
