The Supply Chain Manager plays an essential role in their commercial strategy. At a pivotal stage of their strategic plan with various initiatives, product developments and business transformation activities, the Supply Chain Manager shall be crucial to support the success of the business. Experience within Technology, Electronics and Cloud Computing is desirable.
  
Being a member of our UK-based Senior Leadership team whilst closely collaborating with their US-based HQ you will be a crucial leader in the business, with the ability to operate in a positive, high-performance environment. You will be all about managing the risks from the pressures on the global supply chain, looking at SLA’s and performance management of their suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify Strategic suppliers for all key portfolio elements including New Product Introduction, technology and accessories acquisition
  • Defining goals, coordinating supplier activities, delivering projects, managing budgets, resolving problems and ensuring strategies result in cost-effective, on-time delivery of quality products.
  • Construct an optimum supplier base, whilst ensuring appropriate risk and cost control, including the construction of front-foot contracts with new and existing suppliers,
  • Owning & Managing supplier contracts, implementing service level agreements with suppliers for best value, quality, price, and lead-time. Maximise spend efficiencies!
  • Maintain supply plan within the ERP system to drive requirements to Purchasing and Production.
  • Responsible for Inventory management, including End of Month / Quarter / Year activities
  • Utilising, and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation to ensure efficient supply chain practices, solid contract management and inventory processes
  • Manage and report on long lead-time and high risk (sole source) suppliers and take mitigating actions to reduce risk as appropriate.
  • Support Portfolio life cycle management with respect to sourcing and New Product Introduction / Contract introductions
  • Lead all Production/Supplier Readiness Reviews (supported by cross functional team), ensuring compliance to QA process  

Skills / Competences:

  • 5 years of commercial management / commercial project management, preferably in the highways / infrastructure / mobility market
  • Strategic Sourcing experience and demonstrated achievements within organisation’s driving aggressive growth
  • Ability to develop suppliers and achieve results through supplier relationship management (SRM)
  • Advanced Commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills
  • You will also have strong experience of ERP/MRP/Kanban systems and be IT literate with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • If you have any lean experience, then this would be preferred but isn’t essential.
  • You will also have some people management experience – a pivotal element of this role is the co-ordination with adjacent departments (R&D, Sales Operations etc.)
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in management of supply chain, logistics, production planning, purchasing and inventory control
  • CIPS Level 5+ preferable
