Techniche Global are working with a large manufacturer based in Oundle, to appoint an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. You will be responsible for championing and promoting health and safety awareness across sites. You will share good practice on environmental, health and safety matters and disseminate information across the Company as appropriate. You will ensure the business is legally compliant with all Health & Safety legislation and work with and train all employees to manage, monitor and improve the health and safety standards in the workplace. 

Key Responsibilities:
  

  • Chair the regular EHS site meetings, monitoring action plans that are identified within the meeting
  • Proactively collaborating on Environmental, Health and Safety projects, across all sites
  • Attend, record and management of workplace injuries/near misses appropriately leading accident investigations and identifying root causes for site improvements. Carry out external communications, such as RIDDOR reports and communication and follow up with external agencies such as HSE and the EA.  Proactively managing risks and dealing with insurance issues on site
  • Lead the risk assessment programme, utilising internal and external skills of available personnel
  • Providing authoritative guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders, especially on those relating to your designated area of responsibility, liaise with external consultants as required where their specialisms are required
  • Review and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management, while continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate
  • Plan and strategise work systems around reducing Health and Safety risks, e.g. recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processes through the risk assessment programme
  • Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety statistics
  • Support business change, via effective change management processes
  • Drive behavioural culture change programmes, across a large, complex, multi-site operation
  • Responsible for waste management policies and processes in line with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, at both our land locked and waterside locations
  • Always comply with the letter and spirit of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, Equality Policy and Handbook

  • Strong ability to develop robust business strategies
  • Proactive, well organised and results-oriented with the ability to lead and participate in multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Skilled in budgetary formulation, analysis and management with proven track record of operational excellence and cost efficiency
  • Experience managing multiple competing interests and priorities
  • Educated to degree level, and/or qualified to NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level, CIMOSH: with significant Health & Safety experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
